Never Bloody Mind the Bollocks….

Last entry we asked some of our team members about their favorite place to get Ice Cream and had 3 different answers.  This time we asked a handful of them about their favorite drink and what do you know?  The answer was unanimous!  Any guesses?

We’ll give you some hints:

- It was invented in Calgary, Alberta in the late 1960s
- The drink is virtually unknown outside Canada
- It’s the most popular mixed drink in Canada, with over 350 million consumed every year
- They are usually served in a Highball glass
- It is garnished with a stalk of celery and a wedge of lime
- …and the main ingredient is Mott’s Clamato!

ANSWER:  If you guessed a Caesar Cocktail, you are correct!

The Caesar was invented by Hotelier Walter Chell after he visited Italy and had the “Spaghetti Alle Vongole,” (which for those of you who don’t speak Italian, is spaghetti with tomato sauce and clams.)  He thought the flavors would work well as a drink and decided to mix clam and tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce and vodka together.  …and with that, the Caesar was born!

Be careful how you make it though, because Adam McIntyre, our Bartender/relief supervisor, says:  “One tiny extra dash can change the entire drink…!”
